The variety of fluoride we use in our practice is applied in a professional strength, straight on to the teeth and exposed roots. This adds an additional layer of fortification to the teeth against cavities, which still are prevalent in the general population, especially among children and adolescents. 

This added defense against decay is applied quickly, safely and pain-free, following a patient’s professional cleaning. It may come in the form of a gel, foam or varnish. Only a small amount is used and very little is swallowed directly. We will provide guidance as to how long each patient must wait after treatment to eat, drink, brush and floss.

Keep in mind that a professional fluoride application does not mean that you can cut back or stop your brushing and flossing routine, or skip regular exams and cleanings by your dentist.
